Cumin is regularly ground and then usually combined with curry powder. Either, the producers add it in chili-powders, and it’s applied in different cuisines throughout the world. Cumin is an effective seed useful in treating indigestion, acid reflux, anemia, diabetes, constipation, a rich source of iron and improves HDL cholesterol levels. Also, as previously mentioned, this spice will help you lose weight especially if you drink the cumin tea.
Study confirms
Here are some is one interesting research by a group of experts at Iran’s University – Shahid Sadoughi of Medical Sciences. Researchers randomly split 89 obese or overweight women into two groups. For the next three months, both groups took nutrition counseling and lowered their daily calorie intake by 500 calories. But one group was also consuming 3 grams (a little less than one teaspoon) of cumin powder every day, swirled into five ounces of yogurt (the same equal of yogurt, minus the cumin, was also directed to the command group). The outcome, at the end of the three-month research, the group that was eating cumin had lost three extra pounds rather than the group that did not include cumin for a sum of 13 lbs weight loss. To outline, the cumin group lowered body fat percentage up to 15%—almost three times then the 5% loss reported by the non-cumin group—presumably due to the addition of this fat-burning spice.
